I read Lincoln: A Photobiography by Russell Freedman. It was a Newbery Honor book in the 1980s and it is excellent for child and adult alike. Despite it's brief 150 pages, I learned a lot of interesting things about Abraham Lincoln. Highly recommend. Review here.
